NICOLE PAYNE
MVVC 16 Red Assistant Coach
Nicole grew up and started her volleyball career in San Jose. She started playing club volleyball when she was 13 years old at Vision Volleyball Club. The next year, Nicole won a bronze medal in 14's OPEN division with City Beach Volleyball Club. Nicole was a four year varsity letter winner at Archbishop Mitty High School under Bret Almazan-Cezar. She won two Nor Cal finals and two State Titles while at Mitty in 2001 and 2003. She continued to finish her club career during high school playing for Vision for the next three years competing in Open division at the Junior Olympics.
Nicole graduated from UC Santa Cruz in 2008 with a BA in Sociology. While at UCSC, she played volleyball for the Slugs in which she led the team as captain during her senior year. Nicole also started playing and competing in beach volleyball tournaments while living in Santa Cruz and has led many beach clinics for young girls and boys for NCVA. Nicole's coaching experience includes two years as an assistant coach for the Men's Varsity and Junior Varsity, one year as head coach for the Women's Freshmen team, and with assisting the Women's Varsity program at Archbishop Mitty High School. That year, she helped the Women's varsity team win another State Title. She also coached two seasons for girls club volleyball at Main Beach Volleyball Club and Vision Volleyball Club.
