MVVC 17-2's Head Coach
I got into volleyball watching my brother play inhigh school. I started playing in junior high and continued to playthrough high school and my five years of college. At UC Santa Cruz I wasapart of two final four appearances, taking a second and third place finish myfreshmen and junior year. At UC Berkeley I helped our team to a top tenfinish at club nationals and was named MVP of the Northern California clubvolleyball league. As a player, I am now mainly involved with beachvolleyball, where I've had my AAA ranking for three years now.
Last year, my first year out of college I coachedthe freshmen girls team at Aptos High School. I am excited to coach atMVVC because volleyball has had such a positive impact on my life and I hope topass on that experience to others. Playing volleyball is a uniqueopportunity to learn positive ways to communicate and learn how to work withothers to reach a common goal. It is a great feeling to both inspire andbe inspired by teammates to be better than you thought possible. By theend of the season I hope that my players feel empowered and confident in theirskills, as well as finding a positive relationship with the sport. Mostof all I want my players to enjoy their experience and have fun!
Outside of volleyball, I enjoy making t-shirts,pencil drawings, producing dance music and other creative endeavors. Irecently graduated with a civil engineering degree and am pursuing work ingreater bay area.
