THERESE VINAL

MVVC 16-1 Assistant Coach

I am a local girl born and raised inSanta Clara, CA.  I started playing volleyball when I was 12 years old andimmediately fell in love with both indoor and beach volleyball. I went toPresentation High School where I was on the varsity volleyball team all fouryears. There I helped the Panthers win 3 CCS titles as well as our first NorCaltitle. My junior year I made second team All-WCAL and was honorable mention forthe Central Coast Section (CCS) as an outside hitter. My senior year I madefirst team All-WCAL and second team All-CCS as an opposite. I played club volleyball for Club Yahoo! out of SanJose for five years. We finished 11th at the 2004 Junior Olympics in the18 Open division and we also earned the Bronze Medal at Junior Olympics for 16Club. I also competed in beach volleyball where I won a bronze andtwo silver medals at the USA Junior Beach Championships when I was 14, 16, and17 years old.

I then went on to letter four years atthe University of Colorado as a Libero. At CU, I made the Big 12 All AcademicTeam and the University of Colorado Student Scholar-Athlete awards all fouryears. I was also named to the inaugural Big12 Good Works Team as a junior. While at CU, I had some coaching experienceworking Colorado's camps every summer. I also coached CU's junior girls' clubteam where I helped my 15's team finish 3rd in the state of Colorado.

I then graduated in four years with a degree in SportsBroadcasting. Sports are my passion. When I am not playing or coachingvolleyball you can find me watching or playing a variety of sports--especiallyfootball, basketball and baseball. I am a fantasy football junkie and a collegebasketball bracketology expert. I am currently the co-host for the TV showCal-Hi Sports Bay Area. You can find me every Sunday night on KOFY TV20 at 6pmreporting on all the exciting high school games from around the bay.

I love this game and I love coaching, especially for Mountain ViewVolleyball Club. I am a big believer in creating a highly competitiveenvironment but keeping the game fun. I hope my HIGH energy and knowledge ofthe game will pass on this passion I have to your kids!
