Santa Clara County Guideline update:

Santa Clara County guidelines state that subject to social distancing protocols and COVID-19 related safety requirements we are able to offer recreational programs for children in stable groups up to 12 children with a change of group allowed every 3 weeks.

As a result, we will be adapting our program to run for 2 sessions during summer:

a 3-week session in June and a 4-week session in July.  Groups will be assigned based on information provided by you on the registration forms.  More information regarding the 3-week June session will be sent out by Friday, June 5th.  The June session is scheduled to begin Monday, June 8th and end on June 30th.

If you paid the $25 evaluation fee, we will be applying it toward your eventual fee.

Thank you for your patience while we do our best to provide a safe and educational volleyball opportunity for your children.

Beach Training Program:

The Beach Training Program is a great option for players who are either new to sand volleyball, or who do not wish to commit to the increased number of practices and tournaments in the Competition Beach Program.  The focus of the Beach Program is primarily to teach athletes the fundamentals of sand volleyball with the intent to improve the athletes overall skill level, while providing a fun and competitive practice environment.

Practice Schedule:  Training Groups for the Beach Program will meet for two practices per week.  Practices will be geared towards individual player development with occasional competitive days where athletes will be able to apply what they’ve learned in a game-like environment.

Tournament Schedule:  TBD based on Covid guidelines. We are hopeful......

Financial Commitment:

June - 3 week session (June 8th-30th)(2 per week, 6-practices total)  $240 new players / $100 for MVVC returning players

This includes about two practices a week and a player to coach ratio of around 12 to 1.

July - 4 week session week session (2 per week, 8-practices total)  $240 new players / $100 for MVVC returning players

This includes about two practices a week and a player to coach ratio of around 12 to 1.

Competitive Beach Program:

Our Competitive Training Program is intended for those athletes looking to train at a higher level of intensity, with the intent to compete in both local and out-of-town tournaments.  After attending one of our summer Kick-Off dates, athletes interested in the Competitive Training Program will be placed in the training group that best suits their skill level and practice time preferences.

Practice Schedule:  Teams for the Competitive Training Program will practice 3 times per week.  Each week will consist of two Skill Development Days, which will feature small player-to-coach ratios and focus primarily on individual player development.  We will also incorporate one competitive day per week where two groups will come together and compete in various team games. This format allows our players to practice what they’ve learned during that week in a competitive and game-like environment.

Tournament Schedule:  Local tournaments will be held weekly throughout the summer at Main Beach in Santa Cruz, CA.  Coaches will also be attending multiple tournaments in Southern California during the summer to offer our players the opportunity to compete against players outside of the region.  Tournament schedules will be shared with players and parents once released by organizers. Travel and registration for these tournaments are not covered in the cost of the program.

MVVC Sand Volleyball Club will also be hosting three inter-club tournaments at West Valley College in Saratoga, which are free to all players enrolled in an MVVC Sand Program.

MVVC Sand Training Program Example Schedule can be found here.
